Kew Gardens

Princess Augusta, the Dowager Princess of Wales, planted a nine acre garden at her palace at Kew in 1759. 251 years later, it has grown to an impressive 326 acres (132 hectares because it is the European Union & they use the metric system) of world-reknown botanical garden. Only Sir Joseph Banks might have anticipated Kew's enormous place in the global science of botany.
